After the fall of the Communist regime in 1989, MEFIN became a publicly-traded company registered with the Prahova County Chamber of Commerce and Industry, registration no. J29/105/05.03.1991. In June 2003, the Romanian Government sold MEFIN to DCI WALBRIDGE PARTNERS, Ltd. (“DCIWP”), a member of the WALBRIDGE GROUP, based in Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. (www.walbridge.com). DCIWP currently owns more than 80% of MEFIN.

DCIWP installed a new management team and commenced a Strategic Turnaround Program focused on investment in training, infrastructure, equipment and new products. The focus of the Strategic Turnaround Program is to bring MEFIN’s quality and manufacturing efficiency to Western standards, and to create a manufacturing platform that will ensure the long-term viability of MEFIN as a successful company.
