SINAIA is a small resort
town (16,000 inhabitants) located in an exquisite mountain
landscape, known throughout Romania as the “Pearl of
the Carpathian Mountains”. The former Summer residence
of the Romanian Royal Family, Sinaia is also known as a modern
tourist attraction for mountain climbing and winter sports.
Local hotels and private rentals can easily accommodate 15,000
visitors, for whom various entertainment facilities are available:
the Peles Castle, gondola to 2,000 meters, restaurants, discotheques,
casinos, movie theaters, tennis and swimming facilities, etc.
Situated on European Road E 60, at
850 meters altitude on the Prahova River Valley, Sinaia recently
celebrated its 309th anniversary. Sinaia can be easily reached
by road and railway. The nearest airport is Otopeni International
Airport, located 100 km south of Sinaia and 20 km north of
